Crochet My Favorite Things

Make It Crochet-Along 2019!

The Christmas tree is packed up and we’ve all gone back to work. Congratulations, you made it through another holiday season! All jokes aside, I always look forward to the calm of January after the frenzy of December. To celebrate having a little bit more free time, let’s have some fun!

Introducing the Make It Crochet-Along (CAL), a no-stress crochet event for yarn lovers. Starting Monday, January 7th, casually crochet your favorite TL Yarn Crafts pattern for a chance to win some amazing prizes from handmade businesses.

Watch this Quick Video About Make It CAL 2019!

What is a Crochet-Along?

Essentially, a crochet-along, or CAL, is an online party for makers around the world. I ran my first one last year and it was AMAZING!

This event runs January 7th – February 10th, but you can hop in anytime. Pick any free or paid TL Yarn Crafts pattern, share your progress on Instagram and/or Facebook, and be in the running for awesome prizes.

Prizes, You Say?

Well, it wouldn’t be a TL Yarn Crafts CAL without prizes, now would it? Here’s some info about our CAL sponsored prizes:

Week 1: Maker Apparel and Tee-Shirt brand the Yarn Mamas is offering up two of their classic Yarn Mama tote bags.

Week 2: Queen of Flair Shelli of Shellican has a goodie bag that will make your sip & stitch friends jealous.

Week 3: Indie dyer Elizabeth of Crochet Is Art is cooking up some mystery skeins of cotton yarn for 2 lucky winners.

Week 4: You can’t say “fur pom pom” without thinking of Rebecca of RKC Handmade. There are two 4-packs of her handmade poms up for grabs for Make It CAL 2019.

Week 5: Get your hands on the most adorable and coveted collection of amigurumi when you win Whimsical Stitches from designer Lauren Espy of A Menagerie of Stitches.

How to Win: You have two chances to win the Make It CAL 2019 prize each week –

I want to join the CAL2019 with the Ada Shawl. Love Tunesian! When I did my first Tunesian colorwork I watched videos about how to change colors. Let me just say, Toni, yours was the best! Your instructions were the BEST!

This is so exciting! I really hope I can keep up and follow through with my project(s). I’ve had your Final Flurries beanie and scarf pattern since way last year and haven’t started it yet, so now is my chance! I would also love to try the loopy yarn throw if I finish the scarf. Thanks for doing this!

I am undecided on which free pattern to do. I am going to start on The Sweet Gingham Baby Blanket. When i finish that either do The Sweater Weather Cardi, Fresh Market Tote or The Beach Stuff Crochet Tote Bag, but I am thinking about putting something else on it then Beach Stuff. Can’t wait to start might start tonight once my daughter falls asleep or after my kids dentist appointment tomorrow.
