For the past few years, LoveCrafts (formerly LoveCrochet and LoveKnitting) have taken the time recognize bloggers, makers, and designers for their contributions to craft. I’m so humbled and honored to be among the massive talent that was nominated this year.

About The Crafties

The Crafties is the LoveCrafts blogger awards and is a chance for the people (that’s you) to share the love and celebrate craft bloggers from around the world.

There are a bunch of categories and makers just like you can vote for your favorite makers to win. You can also nominate yourself for Blog Personality of the Year just by sharing a blog post on why you craft. Get more details on The Crafties award page.

Voting closes on November 18th. A panel of guest judges (including crochet’s own Stephanie Lau of All About Ami!) will vote on the Blogger Personality of the Year awards, and votes will be tallied for the other awards. Winners are announced on December 2nd. I’m buzzing with excitement!

The Category Is…

LoveCrafts really spread the net wide when they built their categories for the Crafties. They truly encompass all makers including knitters, crocheters, designers, stitchers, and those who do a bit of everything. Check out these categories:

  • Noteworthy Knitting Blog, specifically for knitters, and includes makers like Jeanette Sloan, Tiny Owl Knits, and Handy Little Me. VOTE HERE!
  • Creative Crochet Blog, all about the crocheters. You can vote for some of my besties like A Crochet Concept, Evelyn and Peter Crochet, and Knot Bad. VOTE HERE!
  • Motivated Multicraft Blog, for the jacks and jills of all trades. I found some new favorite blogs in Cherry Heart, Katie Jones, and Underground Crafter. VOTE HERE!
  • Stylish Stitching Blog, for those super talented needlecrafters like Little Dear, Priscillas, and Wild Olive. VOTE HERE!

I’ve been nominated in the Dedicated Indie Designer category, which is the largest with 15 nominees. It’s aimed toward crafters who also produce original designs. I’m in good company with other makers like Sarah-Jayne of Bella Coco, Alexi of Two of Wands, and Jessica from Mama in a Stitch. Honestly, I’ll be happy for whomever wins (but if you *do* wanna vote for me, you can do that here!).

The Crafties is a fun chance to show the makers you love how much you appreciate the work they do. I love being a designer, and it really gives me the warm and fuzzies to know that my passion makes an impact. I can understand why you were nominated! I watched several videos before I started a project. I wish yours had been the first. That being said, you are an excellent teacher. You are clear in your instructions and totally at ease with your crocheting. I have knit for about 45 years… I started in the womb! I am left-handed but knit and crochet right-handed and. I plan do a lot of crocheting in the future. I love the Tunisian stitches.
Is there a reference book for all of these stitches?
I am making my granddaughter a graphgan that I created with a ninja turtle on it. I can’t wait to see how it goes. I will post it to you when I am done.
Keep up the good work. Love your videos!

Thanks so much for your vote and your kind words, Helen! I reference lots of different resources for my Tunisian crochet tutorials, but there are some great comprehensive books out there. I can’t wait to see how your blanket turns out!
