Each lofty 50-gram donut ball of Happy Place Apricity offers a generous 131 yards (120 meters) of alpaca softness, giving is a category 6 Super Bulky weight. Chainette Construction
Apricity’s unique construction is one of the features that pulls me back to this yarn over and over again. Most yarns are a series of strands twisted together. Apricity is a blown yarn, meaning a collection of loose fibers are “blown” into a casing. Just imagine – super-soft alpaca fiber is blended with durable wool, and then the combination is blown into a polyamide casing. The result is a light and flexible tube yarn that flows from the skein and into your project effortlessly. In some skeins, alpaca’s natural luster adds a sheen to the colorway (Tiger and Fuchsia, for example), while wool’s telltale fluff takes over other skeins (Flora and Stone, for example).
Care Recommendations
Due to the temperament of natural fiber, caring for your items made from Apricity will take a bit more effort. One option is to machine wash your items in cold water on a delicate cycle. I recommend hand washing items gently in cool water with a gentle detergent. After cleaning, lay all items flat to dry in a well-ventilated area. Wool and alpaca can take longer than normal to dry – adding a fan to the drying process will ensure your piece dries evenly and quickly. I recommend laundering a swatch with your preferred method BEFORE starting your project with Apricity.

How do I take care of Apricity? While the label suggests you can machine wash items made with Apricity in cool water, I strongly recommend hand washing all items and laying them flat to dry.

As such, it is strongly recommended that you get plenty of your favorite colors when Apricity finally launches on Friday, October 11th.
