If you’ve been following my crochet journey for a while, you know I’ve tried every hook under the sun. From budget finds to luxury splurges, I’ve been chasing that “just right” tool — the one that fits my hand perfectly, glides through yarn effortlessly, and makes me want to stay up late finishing just one more row. Meet My Happy Place Crochet Hooks
After over a year of testing, tweaking, and daydreaming with the fantastic team at Hobbii, I’m thrilled to announce the release of the TLYC x Hobbii Happy Place Crochet Hooks — launching Monday, November 3rd, exclusively at Hobbii.com. These hooks are the ultimate love letter to makers who care as much about comfort as they do about style.
The traditional crochet hooks feature a rosy copper shaft paired with a deep bottle-green handle — elegant, modern, and unisex. Each is crafted with a smooth aluminum body and a soft, velvety grip that feels as good as it looks. And yes, inline lovers — I made sure the shape hits that sweet spot we crave.
TRADITIONAL HOOK SPECS:
- Aluminum metal hook with velvety smooth tapered handle – the perfect grip for marathon stitching sessions.
- Inline hook head, similar to Susan Bates style, with ample thumbrest and embossed hook size.
- 10 total hooks, including sizes 3.5 (E-4), 4.0 (G-6), 4.5 (7), 5.0 (H-8), 5.5 (I-9), 6.0 (J-10) mm, 7.0, 8.0 (L-11), 9.0 (M-13), and 10.0 (N-15).

Out of curiosity, how do the happy place tunisian hooks differ from the ones you did with Sewrella? I love the happy place ones but I don’t know if I want two sets of metal hooks if they are similar.

Are these planned to be a perpetually in stock/potentially restockable item by Hobbii, or are they a one time limited drop like the recent Tunisian Crochet set you did with WeCrochet?
We expect them to be perpetually available BUT do expect that the first run of these hooks will sell out. More hooks will be purchased depending on the performance of this first run 🙂

Hi! Great question :–) The sets are quite different in available sizes, material, hook head, and thumb rest. BUT they accomplish the same thing. Do you NEED both sets – NO. But it’s nice to have backups (and I’d love the support) 🙂

I can’t wait! I’m still a newbie at Tunisian crochet, but I’ve enjoyed making the few pieces I’ve done. Tunisian crochet makes better dish cloths.
I bought the hooks that were released on We Crochet, but there aren’t many sizes, although I like having two of each.

how long from tip to tip are the traditional hooks?
It depends on the size. The smallest hook measures 6″ from tip to end, and the largest is 7.5″ from tip to end.

I’ve never been more excited for a crochet hook line. I’m a Susan Bates girlie and I’ve tried some online popular brands, but I can tell by looking, these are the ones for me. I cannot wait.
Very excited for this release – congratulations! I’m curious about the Tunisian set. How long are the hooks? The Tunisian hooks/cables I’m currently using (Denise) are very short and cause my hand to cramp, so I can’t work very long at a time. (I’m currently working on the Elmore baby blanket :)) Hoping these hooks are long enough to be comfortable. Also, will they ever be available for individual purchase or only as a full set? Thanks!
You’ll be pleasantly surprised to know that each hook is around 6″ long. I have pretty big hands and had those same challenges with the larger Denise hooks. Fingers crossed these are a bit more comfortable for you.
Im excited to try your new hooks – I’ve been wanting an in line hook with a substantial handle. I love the colours you have chosen! I do wish you had included the length of the hooks – I shall be disappointed if they are less than 6 inches.

Tunisian hooks are $120, regular crochet are $85. I purchased mine at 2:30 am knowing the time change. I used the code given on YouTube video HP2025 but it didn’t work. Waiting now impatiently for them to arrive.

Hey there, Mandy! Thank you for all your kind words! The Tunisian hook set also works with all Knitters Pride and KnitPro cords. So, any hook designer or distributor that uses those brands should have compatible cords for you 🙂
I bought these hooks because I love and trust Toni and I also saw a video by Elise Rose Crochet recommending them. I thought the price was very reasonable (other than the exorbitant tariff but let’s not go there)
The hooks are wonderful! They are quality hooks and the case is lovely and excellent quality too. I have a very expensive set of hooks that I use most often because they dont hurt my hands, but I really have to say these hooks are really amazing. They are quite good at penetrating right stitches, stitches dont slip off the hook and they are quite comfortable.
I like the fact that these were designed by a crocheter because she understands the intricacies.
I highly recommend these hooks! (Hobbi has now rolled the tariff into the price so you wont be as shocked as I was)

I’m very late seeing your fabulous new crochet hooks, congratulations! I bought your Tunisian hooks and love, love, love them! If not for watching your YouTube videos, I’d never have been able to manage Tunisian crochet.
I would love to purchase your Happy Place hooks but live in Australia and Hobbii sadly no longer deliver here. Fingers crossed Hobbii will resume Australian deliveries in the near future.
