I also enjoy shopping at https://www.herrschners.com they have a good selection of well known brands, as well as their own brand and Willow brand yarns. Free and reduced shipping come up frequently as promotions – so it’s worth waiting and watching for those deals. 🙂

Thank you for this great service, both the video and the blog. Unfortunately the two nearest LYS folded in the pandemic and the next nearest is not so near at all. I now shop exclusively online, unless I travel to a city (for work) which also has a local yearn store. Some great (and new!) suggestions here to add to my stash.

Love Herrschners! Been shopping there for decades! They have really good sales & like Mary Maxim they have a variety of other yarn crafts & other crafts like cross stitch kits & supplies. Their website has tons of free patterns, too!

Thank you for this information. It came at the perfect time. (Do you have a camera in my house?) LOL. I was just say I wish I had more than one online site to purchase yarn. Thank you again.

I love Lovecraft’s Paintbox yarns. Their cotton and acrylics are so soft.

If you ever find yourself in Florida, there’s a yarn shop in Winter Haven (south west of Orlando) named The Four Purls. They have their own brand of yarn created by one of their purls as a school project, called Emma’s Yarn. Comes in several different weights and fibers and some cool dye jobs. I make a point to visit when I visit by BFF.

I found a site, expressionfiberarts.com that I love. They hand dye all of their own yarn. It’s all high end yarn, so soft and beautiful. They have pattern designers creating incredible knit & crochet patterns. The owner and several other women create these. Their crochet patterns are some of the most beautiful ones I’ve seen. They’re very soft and flowy, and most are easy. The woman who owns this company makes a YouTube video for every pattern to get you started, and to show you how to crochet/knit any unusual stitches. If you sign up for their emails, you receive new patterns and sales, both of which they have weekly.

I love ICE Yarns, and their shipping time is amazing. Even though I’m in Ohio (USA), I can get my package in a week, sometimes less. All that I’ve ever ordered has been top quality. If I had a single complaint, it would be, when I’ve emailed to ask certain questions (like if there were solid color yarns that went with a particular multicolor yarn, in the same content, like premium acrylic) I never got a real answer back. Pay close attention to the weight of the yarn, as sometimes it’s a little confusing and you might get a perfect color in the wrong weight. But do yourself a favor … do the math. Break it down to what it cost per 100gram, including the shipping into that, and you’ll find you’re paying less than you would for yarn at Walmart or the like.
