If I could describe my thirst for crochet knowledge in one word, it would be INSATIABLE! I have over 100 crochet books and stitch dictionaries, I save all of my fun stitch swatches and attach notes to them, and I love sharing that knowledge with others.
For my crochet stitch pattern videos, I walk you through each stitch from beginning to end, explaining stitch multiples and pattern repeats. Watch these three videos and build your crochet toolkit of fun and lovely crochet stitches.

My 2 favorite stitches are the shell stitch and the mesh chevron. I like to make shawls and scarves and really like the way these 2 stitches look in that kind of project. I am looking forward to making a garment in this Crochet Academy. I have not made anything that I have to fit to my size and am really excited to try. Thank you for this great learning experience and the giveaways.

My favorite stitches were the Linen stitch and Shell stitch. The granny and alpine are quite intriguing as well. As a beginner i am very excited to explore the others.

I am catching up on the CA posts. You are always referring to your Crochet Library and I loved the resources for border stitches you listed. I am building my Crochet library. What are your “must have” crochet books? I apologize if I’m asking a question you have already answered in a video or post. Thank you for all you do.

I am a middle school teacher who knows very little about crocheting. I love your web page! We have enrichment clusters in our school. I decided to take on the challenge of teaching students the little bit that I know which is MINIMAL. I would like for them to use one hook and one color yarn to create a basic scarf. I do not know what yarn or how much, along with what hook. If you can provide any guidance I would greatly appreciate it. Congratulations on your amazing website!!

Hi Maria! I love this idea 🙂 You can get hooks in bulky from sites like Etsy and Ebay. A 6mm crochet hook and worsted weight (category 4) yarn would work. Reach out to a company like Lion Brand or JOANN to see if they can supply the yarn for you.
